These are our Heavy (11ga steel) folded half strap hinges. Each set is made to order with customers choice of backset. Folded hinges are made to mount completely on the outside of a trunk or chest with the hinge pin in line with the seam between the lid and the box.
The backset is the measurement that lines the hinge pin up with that seam. It is easy to find the backset because it is the same as the thickness of the lid.
We offer three common thickness or backsets which can be chosen at check out or if you need a size not offered choose "other" and leave us a note as to your needs.
Our XL hinges measure 8" on the long side including the length of the fold and 2 1/2" on the short side, with a 2" width at the hinge pin.
Sold in sets of two, these hinges are supplied with forged head clinch nails. please notify us if you would prefer flat or round head slotted screws.
They are also offered in 5 different finishes.

Forged Grey
The Wash, Plum Brown and Forged grey are waxed. The Linseed oil Black is a traditional baked on finish, and the Unfinished forged is just that.
These hinges are also made in our standard weight (16ga) at a slightly lower cost.
